Protecting and preserving books

Stand 12, Level 1 Neschen makes a stand at Deutsche Bibliothekartag from 15th to 18th March

Bückeburg, 3rd February 2010 – Deutsche Bibliothekartag has been a fixture on Neschen AG’s repertoire of presentations for years. Neschen will be showing its tried-and-tested products for protecting and repairing books at the Congress Center in Leipzig from 15th to 18th March. To a large extent, these will not be the self-adhesive protective film products "filmolux", which is almost a household term among librarians. The presentation will also focus on “filmomatt” and “filmoplast” – reinforcement films and textile and signature tapes for books.

filmomatt libre – label and barcode protection

The environmentally friendly, matt polypropylene film filmomatt libre is particularly suitable for protecting labels and barcodes. The matt surface prevents reflected light from interfering with the barcode scanning and, since the film does not contain plasticiser, there is nothing to react with the printing inks on the labels. Barcodes can be read without any difficulty, even after a number of years.

filmoplast P 90 plus – special white, tear-resistant paper

filmoplast P 90 plus is a special, thin, white, self-adhesive paper with very high tear resistance (50 gsm). It hardly has any thickness and its adhesive strength is very high – it is therefore ideal for reinforcing the joint between the book cover and the book body. The adhesive is acid-free and resistant to ageing, does not dry out and does not yellow. Supplied in a practical dispenser box, filmoplast P 90 plus is easy to use (no need for moistening).

filmoplast T – self-adhesive coloured fabric

Neschen supplies the flexible fabric filmoplast T which is outstanding for rejuvenating worn book spines – in eight colours. Even board games can easily be repaired by sticking the adhesive film to the back. The colours of filmoplast T are light-fast and the fabric conforms perfectly to the contour of the book. The adhesive does not dry out, does not bleed and is resistant to ageing. The silicon paper backing is printed with a 2 cm squared pattern to make it easy to position.

Account Manager Volker Böttcher and Heiko Rockstuhl will be available on the Neschen stand (No 12 Level 1) to greet visitors at Bibliothekarstag in Germany. The new Product Manager for Documents, Anja Borschke, and the Sales Manager for Documents, Gunther Wienzek, will also be looking forward to meeting numerous people from the trade public.
