NESCHEN Coating Annual Review 2017

With great satisfaction NESCHEN Coating GmbH looks back on the year 2017. Due to a  large number of new and innovative products, a successful start of the independent FILMOLUX Deutschland sales company and the entire European FILMOLUX Group and many successfully completed development projects in the field of industrial coating the employees of NESCHEN Coating Group look back proudly on the past business year.

Innovative coated media and high-performance laminators „Made by NESCHEN“

In 2017, in-house production was the focus of product development at NESCHEN. Already in February, the digitally printable wallpaper NESCHEN performance wallpaper classic was added to the company’s own wallpaper portfolio with a further surface texture.

Like all other products of the performance wallpaper series, the new classic PVC-free surface is sold under the sustainable label “Green Wall”. Wallpapers of the “Green Wall” product series are particularly resistant to both wet and dry conditions and can be applied quickly and easily without any previous knowledge. In contrast to conventional vinyl wallpapers, the NESCHEN performance wallpaper series is particularly breathable and, compared to other PVC-free non-woven wallpapers, allows a wide variety of textures up to a total width of 160 centimetres.

In principle FESPA in Hamburg was once again the perfect platform for NESCHEN to present new product highlights exclusively to the international trade audience. This certainly includes the HotLam 1650 DoubleH laminator, which extends NESCHEN’s machine range in the premium segment. The laminating machine is a real all-rounder and was developed for professionals in the high-end field of application. Two pairs of main rollers allow changing from hot to cold lamination without waiting times. The maximum processing speed of 8 m/min also sets new standards. In addition, the entry model for professional laminating, the NESCHEN Eco-Lam 1650, was introduced to the market in November. In addition to absolute novelties, NESCHEN also presented tried and tested products with yet another improved formulation: the new generation of the bestseller solvoprint® easy dot®. The current production is particularly impressive due to its increased ink density which results in a more brilliant color impression. The surface structure has been optimised to the extent that the dot coating has considerably less influence on print quality, especially with solvent inks. This results in more homogeneous color areas in the print image.

In the area of book protection, bridges to the graphic media sector were built in 2017, especially at the German subsidiary FILMOLUX, in order to be able to provide even more comprehensive advice to libraries and modern media libraries. For the first time, FILMOLUX offers its customers BiblioVisual, an integrated consulting program for the use of graphic media in libraries, with its new full-service package BiblioVisual. The customer benefits from the quality products from the graphic arts sector, such as window and floor stickers, glass decor foils, fine art pictures and much more. Upon request, FILMOLUX advises its customers already during the conception phase with on-site inspections, implements creative layouts and defines together with the architect the perfect media for every application. All media are universally applicable for new buildings as well as for renovations and temporary special events in libraries.

FILMOLUX-Gruppe develops according to plan

The European FILMOLUX Group is already developing into a success story. The outsourcing of the sales company FILMOLUX Deutschland into an independent company within the NESCHEN Coating Group was completed in April and proceeded absolutely smoothly for the customer’s benefit. The independence of FILMOLUX Deutschland was an important component in the expansion of the European trade alliance FILMOLUX Group. Under the umbrella of NESCHEN, FILMOLUX now sells as an independent distributor in Germany, Benelux, Italy, Austria and France. The organisation of the NESCHEN sales subsidiaries in the FILMOLUX Group brings many advantages for customers in Europe in the area of product, service and logistics. Currently, this is already reflected in a much more extensive FILMOLUX product range with strong international brands that are offered in addition to the exclusive NESCHEN product range.

Industrial Coating continues to expand

In 2017 NESCHEN Coating continued to invest in in-house research and development, not least as a result of which it expanded existing cooperation agreements in the Industrial Coating division and won new customer projects. For the newly created position of Head of Industrial Coating, Marc Hansig was recruited as an international industry specialist who most recently worked for NESCHEN’s major customer STARLEATON in Australia. Together with an experienced team of project managers he will continue to expand this business area in 2018.
